So here's our story...

After meeting Geoff at Winthrop, Brigitte graduated in 2004 and traveled as a consultant for Tri Sigma while Geoff spent another year at Winthrop and graduated in 2005. That fall, they both began teaching in the Fort Mill School District but only saw each other at the yearly district-wide meeting.

Fast forward to May 2010. After only seeing each other briefly once a year Brigitte and Geoff ran into one another four times in the span of a month. After the last ‘run into,’ Brigitte decided she mustn’t tempt fate any longer. That night, June 16, after some encouraging from one of her best friends, she sent Geoff a message on Facebook.

The next day, Geoff sent a message back, Brigitte was delighted and a week later on June 23, the couple had their first date. Although the first couple of weeks were tough because Brigitte was out of town for most of the summer, it wasn’t long before Brigitte and Geoff knew something about this relationship was different than others. By mid-July the couple had declared their love for one another.

Finally on March 13, after much anticipation, Geoff and Brigitte went to the Anne Springs Close Greenway. While there, they wondered around and picked locations to take engagements pictures. They began talking about engagement pictures and Geoff confirmed that Brigitte had everything she needed. She quickly told him she was missing something and held up her ring finger. He changed the topic to what he would be wearing for pictures and Brigitte told him they wouldn’t be discussing his outfit until hers was complete. Geoff told Brigitte that he had the missing piece for her outfit. Brigitte affectionately kicked him thinking he was trying to aggravate her, which would be nothing out of the ordinary. At that moment, he pulled the ring box out of pocket, opened it, and asked Brigitte to spend forever with him. She, in true Brigitte fashion, responded “Are you serious?” Finally, when the shock subsided she of course agreed without hesitation.
