Puppy 'Paw'ty, Maximus' 5th Birthday!!!

The following post was suppose to be published at the end of the Summer '12.  Better late than never.

When the wedding was over, the question we were asked the most is, "What are you going to do now?"

Geoffrey and I began planning our wedding in December 2010, prior to our March 2011 engagement... basically, we spent a year and a half'ish' planning what we felt like was the perfect day for us!  After the wedding festivities concluded, our boys birthdays were coming up, a perfect excuse to have friends come over and celebrate with us again, thus the preparations began to focus on planning Maximus' 5th birthday!

We lucked out in that both sets of our neighbors have fences, we were able to not pay  an arm and a leg and simply connect their fences to our house.  Thomas Savage, one of our groomsmen assisted Geoff in hooking up outdoor speakers that came with the house, the venue for the puppy party was set.  As I've mentioned, I discussed all of the details of the party in a previous post so I won't do that here.

Finally, the day of the puppy 'paw'ty was here!!!

Daisy's flower (collar attachment) and favor bag

As the puppies (I don't really like using the word dog... even if the puppy is 8 years old) arrived, they were given their first 'paw'ty favor, a flower or bow tie collar attachment my fabulous mother made, each of these reflected the puppy's hair/fur color (thanks to Aunt Rhiannon) and their personality.

(yes,  I know he
is not a Dalmation)
The first pups to arriver were Buster and Joey, Joey is new to his family and has made fast friends with Maximus while Buster has been a long time friend of the pair.
As they were playing, Shadow arrived.  Shadow, a 7-9 year old black lab, quickly grabbed Maximus' attention and puppy love was in the air, or in our case, our backyard.  It's rare that Maximus gets to play with someone his size and everyone could see his excitement.  Sperry arrived with his parents, Tasha and TJ, next and the pack was elated, quickly welcoming the new member.  Sperry is a spunky pup, the youngest at the party.  Joey and Sperry acted as if they were long lost friends and occupied each other's attention for hours.  Finally, one of Davis' first friends arrived, Daisy, a labradoodle that also came from Heartlight Companions.  She brought with her, her parents Erin and Steve.  Davis hadn't seen Daisy in far too long and couldn't contain his happiness, they kissed and chased each other throughout the night, elated to be reconnected.

Maximus' girlfriend, Shadow

It was a pretty hot day but in the pups in attendance got to play in a water sprinkler and pool, Shadow, Daisy, and Davis had a blast!

Daisy, a true water dog!
Geoff began cooking onion rings and everyone LOVED them!!! For dinner we featured a hot dog bar, with four featured hot dogs, but of course many guests decided to create their own tasty creation!
