Our first registry experience with Target was great. I would recommend this as a first registry for anyone; wedding, baby, or just because. We signed up at the kiosk computer in the customer service section and were given a fun laser gun to wander around the store and zap items. Once zapped they were automatically added to our list. This process was painless and a lot of fun. Another feature that we became found of with Target is the ability to login and view the registry to make changes to it. This was key when we realized that we would need two Glade Plug-ins rather than one.
The opposite end of the gift registry experience would most certainly be the big orange store known as Home Depot. If Target was the equivalent of Blu-ray then Home Depot would certainly be Betamax. The services don't even compare. After inquiring at the customer help desk we were given a clipboard, pencil, and paper for our gift registry. That's right... pencil and paper. Each item was to be hand written with the SKU, description, and quantity. Not only was this a very time consuming and tedious task, but it also took out the "fun" aspect. On top of that there was no online registry for viewing or making changes. Guests interested in our list would need to go to their friendly neighborhood Home Depot and ask an associate to print a list off for them.
Despite this experience we endeavored to persevere and came out of the registry experience wiser and more knowledgeable. Determined to not let the Home Depot trials break our spirit and we shall continue to press forward. Always hopeful that our next location will have a fun laser gun to play with.
HAHA!! I am glad that you got over the traumatic experience. We are almost done with our registering process. So far I have only suffered two minor panic attacks. One in the fine china aisle and the other in the tupperware aisle.

ReplyDeletei think this could be my favorite post thus far... minus the ones with me in them ;)
